- The Swiss American Historical Society meets annually, on the second Saturday in October.
- In 2015 we will be meeting in New York City. Washington, D.C. will host the meeting in 2016.
2015 Annual Social Event – Swiss Chapter
Dear Members of the Swiss American Historical Society,
You are cordially invited to
SAHS Swiss Chapter – Social Event

Those of you travelling directly and on your own to Schwyz should be in Schwyz, Postplatz 3 (by bus) where we will meet at 1015 hours.
Coffee or tea and croissants will be served at the Confiserie Haug at Postplatz 4, approximately until 1100 hours.
From 1100 to 1215 hours, we will have a guided tour of the original Swiss Federal Flag which has only once been removed from the Federal Museum in Schwyz. This was when it was taken to the Museum in Pensylvania.
At 1215 hours, we will proceed to the Restaurant ‘Wysses Rössli’ where we will enjoy aperitif and later on a delicious lunch.
At 1500 hours, we will proceed by bus or car to VICTORINOX in Brunnen. During about 1½ hours, we will watch a video and learn more about the famous ‘Swiss Military Knife’.
Towards the end of this presentation, we will watch the creation of one of these famous knives. Anselm Zurfluh, Director of the Musée de Penthes in Geneva, will present a VICTORINOX knife to all participants.
At 1649, we will board a steam ship at Brunnen which will take us over the Lake of Lucerne to Lucerne. We will arrive in Lucerne at 1847 hours.
